This blog began as a way for a new mom to share news with distant family and as therapy for getting through the tough days of motherhood and is the dominant theme of the earliest posts. No doubt it will ever remain so through the years as I continue to document milestones in my role as a mother.
I have homeschooled my two children since the beginning and in two different states. I will be sharing the joys and struggles homeschooling and will tag those posts accordingly for the convenience of those interested in the topic. Education is important and I am grateful to have options; not every mode of education is best for every student or family.
Our family enjoys travel. We traveled to Tunisia with an 18 month old and 5 months pregnant, and we have taken a 2 and 4 year old to Turkey. We have had the opportunity to visit a few different places due to family interests and my husband's remote jobs including New York City. Some of my more popular posts are about our travels, so I have made it easier for those interested in our travel adventures to find the Travel related posts.
We enjoy traveling so much that we also have an RV. It is actually a travel trailer we christened The Outlander that we even lived in full-time for 8 months at one point. Traveling via this means has it's own unique advantages and challenges and I have tagged them seperately.
I have a long held passion for genealogy and searching for my family history. I started a blog specifically for this area of interest - Traveling Genealogist. If that's an interest of yours check it out. It still doesn't get as much attention as I would like.
